Freezepop Forever

The other day I found myself on last.fm lamenting the fact that there just wasn't enough electroclash in my playlist. Sure I own two Fischerspooner albums and a couple Ladytron songs but that was it, two bands. I know you're nearly as disgusted as I was, absolutely incredulous.

Last.fm has something similar to Pandora, where you type in an artist's name and it plays songs that have been tagged as similar. I plugged in Ladytron and while it came up with some decent selections but nothing that really caught me. Then I heard them. The unabashedly synthpoppy Freezepop. I was in multi-layered-looping heaven! With songs about Chess King, Tracey Gold, and even a cover of the theme song to Jem you could say they play up the 80's vibe their music evokes.

If their music was merely nostalgia-worthy I may have moved on already but they've got some genuinely great pop music. If you like the video and the song on this post they've got a few more free songs up on their page under releases.
