I wish I still had some of my old drawings. My dad was incredibly disturbed when he found several sketches of bloody decapitations and other nasty kinds of execution in my room. My mom quite correctly blew it off as "just a phase." But then, she had already taken me to see Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood, which is as fabulous as the title implies. She also took me to see The Boggy Creek Monster, where I was laughing out loud as the other members the audience gasped and shielded their eyes.
Randy - I drew my share of gory battle scenes as a child. It's just something you're compelled to do as a little boy, though one of my daughters seems like she might start drawing them as well.
