A Litte Anti-Climactic

From the date on the letter you can see I received this a while back. The most feeling I could muster when getting it was, "Finally!" My life is pretty much the same before and after losing all my heavenly blessings and ordinances. In fact I've started to come out of a rut since then so you could almost say things are looking up.

The only other thing of note is that they didn't include my daughters names and I want written proof that they've been removed. Yay, another round of letters.

Do you know if Christy ever got around to this, too?

You realize you're never really removed. Your records end up in the "lost souls" ward.

Concerning the girls, I would be giddy with surprise if they had a hang up in the process because of Christy. Not because they would need her permission, but because you're the head of household and should be worthy of making these decisions... until they don't value your decisions, that is.

Anyway, congrats! Welcome to the real world, Neo.

J. will be listed as "unpbaptized" IIRC. I don't know what, if anything, they'll change about my 11 year old who was recently baptized into the Catholic Church. I'm still listed as a high priest, which strikes me as funny, given that I sit on the floor and chant in medieval Japanese.

Love you Jer, but curious.....why do you care so much? Why do you choose to give them so much power? If you don't believe in them or what they represent then why does it matter if you are listed as a member or not? This makes me wonder if you have some unresolved issues and / or guilt when it comes to them, your departure and your current choices. You will become truly free when you come to a place of acceptance, of yourself and them, and not let what you do or what they do control your life. Best of luck to you, I think you are awesome!!

Eric - Christy hasn't yet as far as I know.

I've heard a few times that you're not ACTUALLY removed but I feel better knowing I've drawn my line in the sand. I'm not relying on Pascal's Wager, my decision is very clear that I subscribe to reason and not superstition.

I actually had Christy sign the letter giving her thumbs up on removing the girls as well so there should be nothing preventing them from doing it.

Randy - Kids are kind of nebulously listed until they're officially baptized so it's not a huge deal if the girls aren't removed. It's more for my own clarification.

A zen high priest huh? You rock Randy. =D

Anonymous - What a predictably mormon argument to make. Maybe I have some guilt or unresolved issues with the church? Because only those who offended or have sinned would leave the church, right? If you've read my blog at all you would understand my reasons for leaving. If you haven't I suggest you look at anything tagged with Mormonism. That should sufficiently explain why I would no longer want the label mormon, or any other religious organization, applied to me. I don't believe in superstitious wives tales any longer.
