Ladytron

Oh my poor neglected blog.

Earlier this month I went to the last of the concerts I'd planned to go to for the early summer. (though I've learned another band I really want to see is coming next month) It was the largest of all the shows, in terms of the size of the audience and venue.

Haunting is probably the best term I could use to describe Ladytron's sound. They were grouped in with the Electroclash movement that began in 2001. It's like synthpop's minimalist more-aggresive cousin.

Their stage setup was amazing. It was like they took something you'd see in an arena and crammed it into this middle-sized club. I was blown away seeing something like that in a smaller, more intimate setting.

The sound in the club was a little off that night and it was rough to hear the vocals over the instruments. That notwithstanding I'm glad I got the chance to see them live, they put on a great show and sound just as good as they do on disc.
